Rashford Man United future: Barcelona face loan challenge but given future boost

Manchester United Vooruit Marcus Rashford looks like he counts the days before he moves to another club, but which you stay in the air. Barcelona seems to be the priority option for the English international, but with the Catalan side that has difficulty creating space in their salary limit for the 27-year-old, he may have to take alternatives into account.

The Blaugrana would like to bring in Rashford, but with Eric Garcia that will continue, and their other duo from potential departures who do not leave, they have a shortage of the € 6 million needed to cover his wages for the rest of the season. Ansu Fati digs on his heels to stay in the club despite his lack of opportunities. In the meantime, another injury to Andreas Christensen seems to have damaged every chance that he will leave before the end of the window.

According to The Independent, Juventus will make a late challenge for the signature of Rashford. They say that currently only the bianconeri looks like a possible option for the end of the window, but noticing that Rashford then wants to move to Barcelona in the summer. Since Ruben Amorim has made it clear that he has no plans to use Rashford, a reconciliation at Old Trafford looks unlikely for the time being.

It is still to be seen whether Barcelona would be interested in Rashford for next season. As a low-leen option for half a season, Rashford is in the mood for a short Barcelona team. However, he still has 3.5 years on his deal, and United was recently supposed to demand at least € 40 million for his signature. That may be cheaper than other options in the position, but the salary requirements of Rashford and profiles such as Nico Williams or Rafael Leao are perhaps more attractive for sports director Deco.
