Rashford suffers new dream transfer blow after offer from Premier League rival

Marcus Rashford's hope for securing a switch to Barcelona could be endangered with Manchester City who is reportedly prepared to offer them Jeremy Doku this month.

The Manchester United Outcast has not played under Ruben Amorim for more than a month and seems to make a tough fight to return to the photo of the first team. As a result, he had to look at new options and his ideal plan is to end up in Spain.

Rashford has previously been associated with the La Liga outfit, but Barcelona could now have an alternative option with those in the city who are willing to punish a deal for Doku before the January transfer closes.

Sport reports that the Belgian winger, who is in Manchester in his second season, was offered to the Catalan club with his minutes under Pep Guardiola potentially limited for the rest of the season. Savinho is in the pecking order for him, while the city has just spent large to land Omar Marmoush.

Barcelona should free up the space in their team if they would make more additions in January with Ansu Fati, who is not part of the plans of Hansi Flick, which may make room if the Spanish side wants to bring in new faces.

However, every movement for Doku can block the planned exit route of Rashford with the attacker who may have to leave Manchester in the coming days if he wants to play. He has not appeared in red since 12 December under Amorim with a large number of clubs throughout Europe that are following his situation.

AC Milan was heavily connected, but their relocation for Kyle Walker could forbid them to also sign Rashford. Monaco and Borussia Dortmund have also been mentioned, but their interest has cooled since then.

It is understood that Rashford will remain open again for playing for Amorim and train well, although the manager himself continued to question his efforts and made a damn explanation during the weekend when he interviewed the player.

“It is always the same reason,” he said when he was asked about the constant omission of Rashford. “The reason is the training, the way I see what a football player should do. In training, in life and it is every day, every detail. So if things don't change, I won't change.”
