Rashford ‘wanted by Spurs’ as clubs line up for him and agent jets to Italy

TOTTENHAM are considering a shock loan deal for Marcus Rashford, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has not featured in any of Manchester United's last six games as he eyes a move away from Old Trafford.

Rashford is wanted by several parties in Europe, but it is believed there is also interest from closer to home.

The Daily Mail reports that Tottenham are keen to loan him out this month after The Athletic claimed an unnamed Premier League side were considering a bid.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou was asked in December about the possibility of signing Rashford and gave little away: “If I looked at everyone we were linked with, I honestly wouldn't have time to do anything else.

“For us, we've been pretty disciplined in what we're trying to build here and we'll continue to be that way.

“You can ask me about Marcus, but you can also ask me about any Premier League footballer and I will say the same thing.”

Spurs are looking to boost their attacking options in Rashford's position after being linked with PSG star Randal Kolo Muani.

United's England star is also on the radar of AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

Rashford's agent and brother Dwaine has reportedly flown to Italy to discuss a move to the Serie A giants.

Any move will likely depend on how much of his £325,000-a-week wages United are willing to pay.

An option or obligation to buy could also be included in a deal as United are open to offloading Rashford permanently.

United could also sell Kobbie Mainoo this month due to interest from Chelsea as he is also a homegrown player.

The money raised from their sales would help ease the pressure to meet profit and sustainability regulations.

Rashford revealed his intention to leave United last month, saying: “For me personally, I think I am ready for a new challenge and the next steps.

“When I leave, it will be: 'No hard feelings.'

“You won't get any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person.”

“If I know a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse.

“I've seen other players leave in the past and I don't want to be that person.

“When I leave, I will make a statement, and it will be mine.”
