Rashford warned Aston Villa are ‘too wise’ to sign him from Man Utd permanently

Marcus Rashford has delivered six target contributions in 10 performances since he came to Aston Villa in January, but former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan believes they will not sign him permanently

Marcus Rashford has been told that Aston Villa is “too Kanny and too wise” to make his loan permanent. Rashford came to Villa in the transfer star of January and has found a form under Unai Emery, which was frozen by Ruben Amorim in Manchester United.

As a result, there has been a lot of speculation about what the future can take for Rashford and former owner of Crystal Palace Simon Jordan believes that Villa is not interested in keeping him because of his enormous wage requirements.

“I could have bet your money in the world that Rashford would come to life for Aston Villa,” Jordan told Talksport. “Fantastic, but wait until Villa has to write a check. I think they are too channny and too wise to fall into this fall.

“It is one thing that a player has on loan, plays a small percentage of his wage, so it's a small transaction. You have it for four months, it costs you £ 5-6 million, nothing, it doesn't care. Everyone knew that Marcus Rashford would lift a leg at Villa.

“I think the system also helps. I just think Villa is too wise for it and in the first place they will not want to pay more than £ 300,000 a week and a transfer costs. It is too much problem.”

Jordan's comments come after Villa boss Unai Emery gave a no-obligation answer when he was asked about the future of Rashford after his player of the match performance in their FA Cup quarter-final victory over Preston North End.

Villa has an option to permanently make the Rashford loan for £ 40 million in the summer and when he was asked if a decision was made, Emery replied: “Not yet. The most important thing is the challenge now and this afternoon, recovering and then preparing for the game against Brighton tomorrow.

“Yet there are many matches to play. If we are in the Champions League, when we are in the Europa League, when we are in the European Conference League or not in Europe or win a trophy, it is completely different.

“A decision about every individual players … It is to get the best of them and the best of us. We don't want to waste time thinking.”

But Emery was full of praise for Rashford's performances since he came to the club, with the attacker who had produced six target contributions in 10 games. “First of all, his dedication to work and quickly adjust is very important. He does it,” Emery added.

“To feel comfortable at his best level, there is still work to do. Weeks to get it. Today he took a step forward, he felt at ease, gained confidence and scored goals.

“There is still work to do and adjustment to come together, the teammates and themselves. Today I think this was a step forward.

“He came here in the past two months and did not train consistently and did not feel very fit in the first games with us. After playing more and with the national team, it helped him to feel better. Today was the confirmation of his progression with us.”
