Aston Villa has confirmed that new signing Marcus Rashford will wear their No 9 shirt for the rest of the season.
During the weekend, Rashford came to Villa from Manchester United at a first loan agreement until the end of the season.
The deal also contains an option for Villa to sign the English ahead permanently for a pre -from amount, which is understood as £ 40 million.
Rashford had worn the NO 10 shirt in United since the summer of 2018. He had two other squad figures during his senior United career and made his first team debut with 39 on his back, before he was promoted until no 19 2016-17 season.
No 10 was available at the arrival of Rashford in Villa Park, because it was last worn by Emiliano Buendia, who left the club last week when he joined the German Bayer Leverkusen champions.
Rashford, however, was assigned the sweater instead that Jhon Duran was recently abandoned after the £ 65 million from the Colombia striker to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
Rashford scored 138 goals in 426 senior performances for United. His last game for the Red Devils, however, came back on December 12, before he fell with manager Ruben Amorim.
Rashford said after completing the first transfer of his career: 'I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for the fact that this loan has made a deal happened.
'I was lucky that a few clubs approached me, but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way Aston Villa played this season, and the ambitions of the managers. I just want to play football and am excited to start. '
“I wish everyone at Manchester United the very best for the rest of the season.”
