Marcus Rashford played his first game in 59 days when he made a cameo in the 2-1 victory of Aston Villa op Tottenham in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Villa debut of Rashford came a week after he sealed a loan that was removed from Manchester United until the end of the Season from Manchester United.
The 27-year-old had been banned by Ruben Amorim since December after he had dropped out with the United Manager and publicly expressed his wish to look for a 'new challenge'.
Rashford entered Sunday's game as a replacement in the 65th minute and entered the ball 22 times, with each involvement causing excitement among the crowd.
After the game, Rashford went to Instagram to send a message from nine words to his new supporters.
In addition to five photos from the game – including two with young fans who hold home -made signs with his name – Rashford wrote: 'Thanks for the warm welcome. Great team performance '.
Villa's victory saw the last 16 of the FA Cup reach for the first time in a decade.
They hope to go all the way and win the tournament – something that Rashford has reached twice with United.
Rashford is still under contract in Old Trafford until June 2028.
Villa, however, will have the option to permanently sign him in the summer for transfer costs in the £ 40 million region.
Rashford scored 138 goals in 426 senior performances for United before making the move to Villa Park.
He hopes to get his first goal for Villa next weekend when the men of Unai Emery Ipswich Town organize in the Premier League.
Villa is currently eighth in the Premier League – eight points and five places above United.
