The only hope of Manchester United on silverware this season is based on their upcoming Europa League collision with Lyon and Spits Rasmus Hojlund has spoken for the game
Rasmus Hojlund has rejected claims that Europa League Glory can 'save' the season of Manchester United after agreeing with Roy Keane. The Red Devils have passed this period a sad campaign, with the arrival of Ruben Amorim who cannot arrest their slide.
They are 13th in the Premier League table with seven more games that have lost more games than they won this season. Despite their rotten competitions, United still has the chance to seal a Champions League spot.
That will only happen if they win the Europa League this period, with a collision against the French side Lyon to come on Thursday. Asked if the season could be saved with the trophy, Hojlund did not agree, and claimed that success is the minimum that is expected at Old Trafford.
Speaking with Danish outlet plbold, the striker said: “If we don't win the trophy [Europa League]I will not say that it has been a successful European season, because that is what we are looking for.
“I don't like the word 'save'. It means that you forget about everything else that happened. It can provide a basis for next season if we can put together some games.”
Away from current United Stars, a large number of former players have also given their statements about the rest of the campaign. And ex-captain Keane believes that even Europa League Glory would not make the season a success.
“Not that trophy, no,” said Keane, speaking on the stick to the football podcast, offered you by Sky Bet. “Not for Manchester United, perhaps for other teams who win that trophy. There is a plus because it will bring them to the Champions League, but the trophy and that competition should not be enough for United, absolutely not.”
Gary Neville also gave his opinion on that claim and did not agree with Keane. He replied: “The reason I would say it will be successful is because United could not win the competition this season, we knew that immediately from the start.

“So they could only win three trophies – the FA Cup, League Cup and the Europa League. If they have won one of them, I would say that that is successful. There is a big 'but' – they have fired a manager and his 13th in the competition and that is bad.”
United Travel to France for the first Pije of their collision with Lyon on Thursday evening prior to the second leg in Old Trafford next week. Ruben Amorim's side already has their semi -final opponents when they are progressing, with Rangers or Athletic Bilbao lurking.
The Red Devils could be confronted in the final with Premier League rivals Tottenham if they go that far. The North London side takes on Eintracht Frankfurt, with the collision of Bobo/Glimt with Lazio that completes the quarterfinal schedule.
