Antony is expected to leave Manchester United again, and at this stage a return to Real Betis is the most likely result. Los Verdiblancos are determined to re -sign the Brazilian winger, which is not counted on Old Trafford by head coach Ruben Amorim.
That is why Man United is willing to punish his departure to raise money that would be re -invested in their own transfer efforts. They have tried to secure the sale of Antony, but they can be forced to consider another loan – but on this occasion the conditions would be different.
As reported by caughtside, Betis are working on a deal for Antony who would see him on loan, but with an obligation to buy in the summer of 2026. As part of this, Man United would also expect to maintain a percentage of every future sale.
Betis would ideally want to have a deal for Antony without any problems, but financial limitations mean that they should become creative in their negotiations with Man United. And a loan with obligation to buy can be a good result for all parties.
It is unclear what the appreciation of that obligation to buy clause would be. Man United had asked € 50 million to complete the sale of Antony, who was almost double signed by Ajax three years ago. However, it is more likely that a reimbursement in the region of € 35 million will be agreed by both clubs.
If this is the case, Antony would still be the record signature of Betis. Denilson is still the player who holds this title after his notorious relocation of Sao Paulo 27 years ago in a deal worth € 30 million, but Los Verdiblancos will hope that he is much more a success, provided that an agreement with Man United will be coming.
