Real Betis given major boost as key player returns to training
Real Betis have had a mixed few weeks after impressively beating Atletico Madrid and then failing to win in La Liga in their next three matches, most notably a 4-2 defeat to Valencia. However, there is good news.
On Monday morning, Isco Alarcon returned to full training at the Betis, and his return is approaching. Marca says the veteran playmaker, who has not played for six months since the first of two foot surgeries, completed the session without incident. He is expected to get up to speed in the coming days and weeks, although it is not certain exactly when he will return. However, no risks are taken with him.
Isco was the heartbeat of Betis last season until injury problems got in his way, and before his injury he was in the squad for Spain's Euro 2024. Betis are currently two points behind sixth and one European spot, but has struggled to score goals, scoring just sixteen in fourteen games. In the Conference League, Betis are 18th with just one win from their first three games and will face Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic on Thursday.
