This summer, Arsenal has drawn Martin Zubimendi and Crithian Mosquera from La Liga clubs, but they have not succeeded in loading one of their outcasts to another side that plays in the top division of Spanish football.
Earlier this week, reports emerged that Betis was interested in Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is ready to leave Arsenal this summer after he had fallen the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium. Los Verdiblancos need a different left back, despite the already recovering from Junior Firpo from Leeds United, given that Ricardo Rodriguez will accompany with Romaine Perraud when leaving the Andalusian club.
However, it will not be Zincenko that falls the void created by the expected exit of Rodriguez, as Ed has reported that Betis has decided to make a move for the Arsenal defender.
Betis appreciate Zinchenko, but they consider him too old. Their idea is to bring him a younger alternative to the 28-year-old, and they have already identified their top goal in this respect.
The ED report has confirmed that Betis Javi Lopez would like to add to their team, where the 23-year-old this summer is almost certain to leave Real Sociedad, because he is currently third in the left-wing Arena behind Aihen Munoz and Sergio Gomez.
Betis and La Real are already in conversation about a permanent deal for Lopez, which would arrive in La Cartuja to compete with Firpo before the starting point. The 23-year-old had a difficult debut season in Donostia-San Sebastian after his move from Alaves last summer, and he could now be set up for a third other club in three consecutive campaigns.
It is still to be seen whether Betis Land Lopez lands, although they have other goals on their radar if a deal cannot be closed – but Zinchenko is not one of them.
