Match report

Xabi Alonso earned his first victory as the head coach of Real Madrid when his team conquered his team's early red card to beat Pachuca 3-1 during the Club World Cup on Sunday.

Asencio was rejected in the seventh minute after a last man at Salomon Rondon, but the individual attacking quality of Madrid brought them to the tournament.

Goals from Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Federico Valverde moved Los Blancos to first place in Group H for the meeting of Al-Hilal with Red Bull Salzburg.

Pachuca started strongly and a ball caught the top caught Asencio, so that Rondon could steal before he was brought down by the defender, which resulted in his broadcast.

Alonso then owed Thibaut Courtois after Madrid's keeper had quickly reached two stunning rescues to deny Rondon and Alan Bautista.

But Madrid hit the front in the 35th minute when the pass from Fran Garcia was collected by Bellingham, who drove the box before he went a left-base attempt past Carlos Moreno.

Guler then doubled two minutes before the break from his side and put the ball in the top left corner to complete a nice movement in which Trent Alexander-Arnold was involved.

Elias Montiel scored a late consolation for the Mexican side, with the strike of the midfielder from a distance that Aurelien Tchouameni bends and Courtois is wrong.
