Once again the visiting goalkeeper had to work hard to deflect Tchouameni's right-footed shot within fifteen minutes. Madrid looked for the goal by working out the actions with patience and came close to achieving it in the 30th minute. This time it was Brahim who found Villar, who put a great foot on the Malaga native's cross shot.
Mbappé's goal Seven minutes later, our team took the lead on the scoreboard after an excellent action by Mbappé. The striker picked up a pass from Ceballos in his own half, drove into the area with a spectacular run and, after moving away from his goal with several bikes, scored a left-footed shot from a corner to make it 1-0. Arda Güler increased the lead when Vini Jr. took advantage of a cross, but the goal was disallowed by the Brazilian for offside. It went from 3-0 to 2-2. Bamba reduced the deficit in the 83rd minute, causing a penalty in extra time that Marcos Alonso converted to send the match to extra time.

From a corner kick by Arda Güler, Rüdiger hit the post with his shoulder. Madrid went all out in the second half of extra time. In the 107th minute, Endrick took a left-footed shot that ended up in the net. The 3-2 wasn't enough and shortly afterwards Valverde fired a great right-footed shot outside the area that slid into the top corner to make it 4-2.
