Real Madrid has a form for signing the newest Wonderkids from Ligue 1, and a new defender is linked to Los Blancos. Rennes -defender Jeremy Jacquet made an impression in France and is on the radar.
In recent seasons, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni have arrived early in their career from Ligue 1 for big money, with Raphael Varane perhaps the most successful business at the start of his career. Jacquet came through the Academy of At Rennes and last season spent the second half of last season on loan in Clermont Foot in Ligue 2 and became a starter.
To start this year, Jacquet started both Rennes matches in Ligue 1. He has a contract until 2029.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Saudi Pro League-Kant Al-Hilal has focused on a movement for Jacquet. Tavolieri adds that he does not intend to move to Saudi Arabia and is interested in Real Madrid and Arsenal. The latter were connected earlier this month with the 20-year-old defender by the BBC.
This summer Real Madrid spent € 120 million on their backline, with the arrivals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras who gave Xabi Alonso's side a new look at the back. It seems likely that Los Blancos will be on the market for another defender next summer, with veterans Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba both from the contract then.
Moreover, they have also been associated with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate and Arsenal's William Saliba for another blockbuster to strengthen their backline again next summer. It is not clear whether they try to add another younger prospect. It is no surprise that Los Blancos monitors the top young talents in the position, and before he signed Huijsen, moved to Leny Yoro last year, before he finally switched to Manchester United.
