Rashford makes the most of his England exile by sitting courtside in New York

Marcus Rashford has been spotted putting his disappointing English critique behind him by watching an NBA match in New York wearing a striking set of grills.

The Manchester United striker was present at the match between the New York Knick and the Brooklyn Nets at Madison Square Garden.

Rashford took part in the match after being left out of interim England boss Lee Carsley's squad for their Nations League matches.

The forward could be seen entering the arena wearing a large white hoodie and black leather pants, but once he was seated he looked comfortable in a black t-shirt.

Before the match started, Rashford was greeted by a host of NBA players, including Jalen Brunson and entertainment stars such as Spike Lee.

And as he sat down to watch the match, the United striker, flanked by the likes of Hollywood icon Ben Stiller, appeared to have something in his mouth.

It soon became apparent that he was wearing a shiny new set of grills to match his extravagant outfit.

Rashford was joined by his friend Ro-Shaun Williams, who plays for Northern Irish side Larne, with the pair coming through the United ranks together.

The star had traveled to Belfast to meet Williams earlier in January after his former teammate signed for Larne.

The trip ultimately led to Rashford being disciplined by recently sacked Man United boss Erik ten Hag after the forward called in sick following a day of drinking in Belfast the day before.

Williams was with Rashford during his infamous bender in Belfast in January.

The pair watched as the Knicks ultimately won the New York derby 124-122 in a thriller at the Garden.

On his return to Manchester, Rashford will be keen to impress the club's new head coach, Ruben Amorim, who officially started working at the club this week.

The Portuguese is likely to bring his preferred 3-4-3 formation from Sporting Lisbon and the system will require the wider men in the front three to register as number ten and extend out to the flanks.

This probably suits Rashford's versatility better than that of true wingers Garnacho and Amad Diallo and could give him the chance to revive his career.

One manager he has noticed recently is new England boss Thomas Tuchel, who has reportedly contacted Rashford's camp to let him know he is a big admirer.

That could lead to a recall as early as March during next year's first international break, potentially allowing Rashford to add to his 60 England caps.

A source told The Sun: 'Tuchel contacted Marcus and his representatives and told them he saw Marcus as an essential part of the England squad. He said he believed England's inability to win Euro 2024 was largely down to Marcus not being an option.

'Other teams fear his ability and Tuchel said he believed England without Rashford did not offer a strong attacking threat on the left and that made it easier to play against them as a lot of the ball came on the right.'

Rashford's discipline was called into question earlier this year when he called in sick for United training after allegedly downing shots of tequila during a boozy trip to the Northern Irish capital.

A waitress, who claims she was invited by the England star, said he was so drunk at the end of the night that he dropped wads of cash in front of her in his five-star hotel room, moments before she was forced to go to bed after he fainted.

Speaking to The Sun, Sarah Adair claimed Rashford, who is reportedly paid £325,000 a week, invited her on the 'weird' night out saying he was 'clearly on a mission to get drunk'.

The footballer, who was pictured dining with his high school sweetheart fiancée Lucia Loi in November, months after they split, was also said to have been spotted arguing with a French woman in a nightclub.

Rashford's behaviour, which saw him expelled from the Manchester United squad and the club issuing a statement saying he had 'taken responsibility', is said to have angered his teammates, with one source saying: 'They couldn't believe that he would do that. do that given the situation the club finds itself in.'

Rashford arrived in the Northern Irish capital on Wednesday on a private jet from Manchester before checking into the five-star Fitzwilliam Hotel and heading to the Dirty Onion pub and Lavery's bar, it is claimed.

The next day, after a visit to Larne FC – for whom his friend Williams had just signed – the 26-year-old went to the Italian restaurant where Adair works.

On's mother told the Sun she initially did not recognize the footballer, who reportedly signed a £375,000-a-week contract with Manchester United last year, and only found out when her manager told her who he was.

The 30-year-old said Rashford was accompanied by two men and two women, one of whom was 'French and very beautiful', as the group ordered food and drinks.

She claimed the footballer ordered sea bass but didn't touch his food, instead focusing on shots of tequila and cocktails before inviting her to join the group on their night out.

After she agreed to join him, Rashford asked Adair if she knew any nightclubs that would stay open past 3am if he paid them enough money.
