After a decade in the club, Real Madrid announced that Jesus Vallejo will finally leave this summer, after several seasons with little in the way of playing time. The 28-year-old arrived in 2015 from the real Zaragoza for a free of € 5 million and leaves at the end of his contract in June.
The career of Vallejo is one of the more curious rounds and arrives as one of the smartest hope in football in Spanish. He would publish Leen Proverbs in Zaragoza, Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolves and Granada during his decade as a Real Madrid player, some of which are promising, but he struggled to claim himself consistently.
Los Blancos announced a statement in which he announced his exit on Friday and noted his five seasons in a white shirt, where he won 13 trophies, consisting of a League, two champion competitions, four club world cups, three European supercups, a Copa del Rey and two Spanish supercups.
“Real Madrid thanks Jesus Vallejo for his professionalism, dedication and hard work, and wishes him and his family best in this new phase of his life,” completed their explanation.
His incidental performances led to a few remarkable statistics, which appeared 35 times in his five years, score once and once assist. In total, Vallejo played 2,072 minutes, which means that he had the average of silverware every 160 minutes of his Real Madrid career and every 2.7 performances. This season Carlo Ancelotti used him four times, against 136 minutes.
Although Vallejo was not really a factor this season, Los Blancos was desperate to strengthen their backline and signed Dean Huijsen for € 60 million from Bournemouth. He will compete with David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, Raul Asencio and Eer Militao next season, unless there are further outputs or additions. However, Xabi Alonso has few certainties in his backline, with Alaba and Militao still to show that they can come back to their best after serious knee injuries.
