Real Madrid continues their exit operation from Castilla graduates, with the last to leave Mario Martin. The 21-year-old has moved through the city to get Getafe, where he will spend the season on loan.
Martin came through the Academy System in Real Madrid and made his first performances for the Castilla side in 2021. He would then become a regular under Raul Gonzalez for the next two campaigns before he switched to Real Valladolid on loan last season. In total he made four performances for the senior team, around 41 minutes from the bank, three of which were under Carlo Ancelotti last season.
Martin has part of the World Cup team of the World Cup that went to the US with Xabi Alonso and has decided to search for more minutes and became a member of Getafe on loan for the season. Los Azulones have also revealed that they have an option to buy on Martin, although it is not yet clear how much that is worth.
Last season was a mixed for Martin at Valladolid. Although he ended the season as a fixed value, 32 performances (1,859 minutes) made a slow start and disciplinary problems him. Martin was sent three times, including against Real Madrid and Getafe. Proof of his combative style, the scorching season in Valladolid made it difficult for everyone to come up with a lot of credit.
With Carles Alena to Alaves and talk about Chisantus Uche and Mauro Arambarri who also go further, Getafe will want to strengthen their midfield options. Martin must fit well with the hard -working outfit of Jose Bordalas and will be asked to keep things tight in the middle of the field.
