Real Madrid announce sale of 23-year-old forward

Real Madrid has focused on outputs in recent weeks and they have now added a list after confirmation of the departure of Reinier Jesus.

Last month it was reported that Real Madrid is considering the termination of Reinier's contract, but in fact he was sold on the Brazilian side Atlético Mineiro, where the club had issued official confirmation.

“Real Madrid CF and Clube Atlético Mineiro have agreed on the transfer of our player Reinier. Real Madrid wants to show him his gratitude and affection for these years in which he belonged to our club and wishes him and his family the very best in this new phase of his life.”

After signing from Flamengo in January 2020, much was expected from Reinier. He spent the first six months of his time in the Spanish capital with Castilla, but he failed to have a positive impact there. He was driven double on a two -year loan to Borussia Dortmund, where he struggled for fame.

Further loans to Girona, Frosinone and Granada followed, but he never succeeded in combining a consistent series of good performance. And that meant that his days were numbered like a Real Madrid – and they are now over.

He is still only 23 years old, so he has time to start his career – and it will be easier to put this back in his home country. He could have opportunities to return to Europe in the future, but for now he will concentrate on making a difference for his new club.

The exit from Reinier makes it possible to remove more wages from the books in Real Madrid, although it has little effect on the first team situation. If a signature has to be added to the Xabi Alonso team, a sale of someone who is already present would first be needed.
