Real Madrid enter the January transfer window with a lot invested – or so they hope. Their recruitment drive is for the summer, but the deals for both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alphonso Davies are likely to be decided in the first month of the year.
Regarding the latter, Diario AS explains that Real Madrid will wait and see what happens. Bayern Munich have increased their offers and intensified talks to keep him. However, Real Madrid have made no move in recent months as they wait for Davies to keep his word about signing for them earlier this year. Los Blancos agreed a deal with him in March, and those terms remain in place as things stand. Real Madrid will not increase its offer.
The Canadian left back could be Real Madrid's starting player in the coming years if he signs for Los Blancos. Fran Garcia is still under contract until 2026, but is not seen as first choice. Meanwhile, the club have agreed, if not announced, an extension for Ferland Mendy, but the French defender has been in and out of the squad this season due to injuries and form.
