Real Madrid has returned from the Club World Cup, somewhat with their tail between their legs after a humiliating defeat. Los Blancos fell to Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 in the semi-final, but Xabi Alonso claimed that his side a better team returns home.
One of the most important considerations for Real Madrid will now be whether they want to add their team in the rest of the summer transfer window. Benfica left back Alvaro Carreras is expected to become a member of Real Madrid, but otherwise there is little certainty about how Los Blancos will respond. Alonso certainly suggested that he was enthusiastic about further additions, and they will have extra money to perform more signing sessions after their journey to the United States.
Real Madrid takes home the third highest income from the club World Cup in terms of prize money. Paris Saint-Germain has already delivered € 92.2 million on their journey to the final, while Chelsea, their opponents are € 76.6 million on their side. Another € 10 million is at stake in the final on Sunday.
Los Blancos, however, has earned almost as much as Chelsea, even though he fell a round earlier. Their total income is € 72.9 million, according to sport.
That income has already paid off the additions of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen. Liverpool received € 10 million for allowing Alexander-Arnold to be part of the club World Cup, and Los Blancos activated a release clause of € 60 million to bring in Huijsen.
There can also be more funds, Real Madrid's way. The club is looking for an exit for star striker Rodrygo Goes, with Arsenal interested in a movement for the Brazilian, and he would probably only go for a considerable fee. Price tags ranging from € 70 million and € 90 million were mentioned earlier.
