Como playmaker Nico Paz continues to impress the Serie A, and Real Madrid does not intend to leave their iron grip on the International Losser of Argentina. Tottenham Hotspur is the newest side to pursue the 20-year-old, but needs the green light from Los Blancos if they want to bring it in.
Spurs have tried to get a deal for the Savio Moreira from Manchester City, but with Pep Guardiola's side who likes to hold on to Paz. Real Madrid considered the idea to sign Paz again this summer, with a return clause of € 8 million in his deal, but chose to it after signing Franco Mastantuono for € 45 million. Following interest from, among others, Bayer Leverkusen and Inter, Spurs reportedly made a bid of € 70 million on PAZ.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Como has rejected an offer of € 70 million for PAZ, which they signed 50% of its rights for € 5 million last summer. He would like to stay in Como this season and feels that it is his best path to return to Real Madrid next summer. Los Blancos has a return option of € 10 million next summer, but would be willing to find more compensation with Como in the line.
On the other side, Marca paints something of a different image. They say that Real Madrid not only has their doubts about whether an offer of € 70 million has really arrived from London, but that every deal requires the approval of Real Madrid. Given their return options, which remain active for the next three summers, and his desire to return, are Los Blancos in the steering chair.
Paz could have returned to the Bernabeu this summer and had Paris Saint-Germain not made a sturdy move for Mastantuono, then he might have done that. With Arda Guler, however, already in the team, Xabi Alonso would have had three players of similar peers in his team this season.
