Real Madrid have ‘all but’ made decision to shop defender next summer

Real Madrid are deep in their planning for the summer of 2025 and the associated transfer market. The full-backs are a priority for Los Blancos, and that will impact their current squad members.

It is expected that they will open the door at the White House next summer for Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich, who comes over on a free transfer from Bayern Munich. That means one of Ferland Mendy or Fran Garcia will likely leave as well.

While it has been suggested that both could leave next summer, Cadena SER says (via ED) that the decision to sell Garcia is 'all but made'. The Castilla graduate has struggled to reach the heights he reached at Rayo Vallecano since returning to Valdebebas.

The 25-year-old has a contract until 2027, meaning it makes sense to sell him next season if they have no intention of giving him a new contract. Garcia previously attracted interest from Bournemouth in the Premier League, where former manager Andoni Iraola is doing a good job.
