Argentina International Nico Paz has become the newest attacking asterisk to reach the radar of the Giants of the Premier League. The 20-year-old enjoyed an excellent debut season in Como in Serie A, and they too are desperate to keep him.
The Cesc Fabregas side has already rejected a first offer of about € 40 million from Tottenham Hotspur this week, while Spurs hopes the absence of the wounded James Maddison. Outside also caught on Manchester United and Chelsea as interested parties in Paz.
Como, who does not need financial help, does not intend to let Paz go this summer. They have set a price tag of € 70 million, close to the double of what Spurs has offered on the young playmaker. This summer they also approached Real Madrid about buying Paz.
The Italian side bought Paz last summer for a reimbursement of € 6 million, but if Paz were moving, Los Blancos would earn 50% of each fee, because of their sold -out clause in that deal. Real Madrid has not intended that that will happen.
Given the money on the table, Los Blancos would undoubtedly want at least € 20-30 million for the other half of Paz's rights. Marca says that even if the price tag of Como € 70 million were paid, the offer should get the green light from Los Blancos.
It was talking that they could bring him back this summer, and they have a return clause of € 9 million valid until 2027, giving them control over his future. That is perhaps the bottleneck for traces or other lovers – given the obvious talent of PAZ, Real Madrid seems to retain control of his future for the time being.
