Luka Modric is now confirmed that it is leaving Real Madrid this summer and preparations are being made before his departure. A replacement is probably necessary for the Croatian, and a number of players have been taken into account for this role.
In recent months it has been reported that Chelsea -midfielder Enzo Fernandez is on Real Madrid's Radar, and Cadena Ser has now confirmed that he is being seen as a possible successor to Modric. Los Blancos loved him prior to his large money movement to the Premier League side after the World Cup 2022, and a few years later they could finally get him in his hands.
But given that Chelsea will make it very difficult for Enzo to leave, it will not be easy for Real Madrid. And keeping this in mind, they also consider another player – and it is another Argentina International, Exequiel Palacios.
Palacios is someone who is well known in incoming Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso, with the couple working at Bayer Leverkusen in recent years. But this deal can also be difficult, because Manchester City is said to want to bring it to the Premier League.
It is already a busy start of the summer transfer window for Real Madrid, with the signing of Dean Huijsen already confirmed. Trent Alexander-Arnold will be the next, and there is also a desire to have a deal for Alvaro Carreras packed before the start of the club World Cup.
There is every chance that a new midfielder will also become a member before the team finds his way to the United States, but given that Chelsea is also playing at the tournament, and so would almost certainly not arrive in June. And that is why there can be more opportunities for Palacios to make his way to the Santiago Bernabeu.
