In recent weeks there has been a lot of speculation around the future of Vinicius Junior, which was associated with a relocation of Real Madrid – in particular to Saudi Arabia. The 24-year-old has noticed several times that he wants to stay in the Santiago Bernabeu for many years to come, but the rumors did not stop.
Vinicius seems to entertain the interest from Saudi Aarabia, and that is why it is not guaranteed that he will stay with Real Madrid – although club officials are relaxed about the situation, and they expect the Brazilian superstar to sign a new contract before the end of the season.
However, this trust is not total, with Real Madrid officials being started to prepare for life after Vinicius. According to Sport, an offer above € 250 million would be accepted if the player would ask for a transfer, and in the case the club started drawing up a list of possible replacements.
According to the Catalan Daily report, Real Madrid is currently considering two players as possible Vinicius Junior replacements: Nico Williams from Athletic Club and Bayer Leverkusen Gamesmaker Florian Wirtz.
At this stage, Williams would be the preferred choice for Real Madrid, given that he is cheaper, Spanish and he is a like-for-like replacement in the sense that he is also predominantly a left wing player. However, the possible signing of Wirtz would get a grip if Xabi Alonso Carlo Ancelotti would replace as head coach, something that is expected to happen this summer or next.
Real Madrid is certainly hopeful that all this planning turns out to be useless, because they will be desperate that Vinicius will stay in the club for many years. However, that cannot be guaranteed at this stage.
