Real Madrid “in alliance with FIFA” despite European Super League controversy

In recent years, Real Madrid's relationship with UEFA and FIFA has broken down at an institutional level, largely due to the controversial European Super League proposal backed by Los Blancos. However, there are signs that things are improving, especially with world football's governing body.

According to Marca, Real Madrid recently became an ally of FIFA as both parties reportedly “share a common interest.” Despite the Super League debacle, Florentino Perez and Gianni Infantino have maintained a strong relationship throughout, and it is now paying off for both clubs.

For this reason, the report states that Real Madrid will prioritize the new Club World Cup, which will be played in the United States next summer. FIFA is very proud of that tournament, so they will be especially happy that Los Blancos will take it seriously, rather than treating it as a post-season exhibition.
