Real Madrid -look set to sign a new midfielder during the summer transfer window, and several goals have been identified as possible positive additions to the Carlo Ancelotti team.
In recent weeks, the interest of Real Madrid in Martin Zubimendi has been well documented and it is assumed at this stage that he is the leading goal of midfield among those in the Santiago Bernabeu. However, there are doubts about paying his release clause, and this opens the door for other players to be taken into consideration.
And according to Tuttosport (via MD), Tijjani Reijnders is a player who has caught the attention of Real Madrid. The Dutch International is supposed to captivate President Florentino Perez, who has recommended the sports department of the club to consider a summer movement for him.
Reijnders is a striking midfielder in the Serie A this summer, with nine goals (14 in all competitions) and delivered three assists in the competition. Since he moved to Milan from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2023, he has continued to enter into force and strength, and at 26 he would be ready to complete a transfer to Real Madrid if it came about at the end of the season.
Real Madrid does not have many problems scoring goals from midfield, with Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde being two players who regularly contribute. However, they cannot always be trusted, and this is where someone like Reijnders can be a valuable possession, as he has shown this season that he can contribute from deep.
It is still to consider whether Real Madrid makes a concrete attempt for Reijnders, but the fact that he is 26 works against him – the reigning La Liga and European champions tend to focus on younger players, although Zubimendi is the same age.
