Real Madrid keeping tabs on €35m-rated defender

Real Madrid is expected to tackle their defensive options in the summer, with the possibility that all three positions will be viewed. They follow a deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold as their new right back, and although left back is now less known after Alphonso Davies had signed a new contract with Bayern Munich, they could look for an alternative given that Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia were both struggling This season.

Finally, the central defender can also be tackled, although the rise of Raul Asencio has made it less of a priority in the transfer market. The 21-year-old is besides Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and Eer Militao as natural options that Carlo Ancelotti has, while Aurelien Tchouameni and Dani Carvajal can fill in when needed.

Nevertheless, there can be a movement and an option that is available for Real Madrid is Mario Gila. In 2022 he left Castilla to become a member of Lazio, where he has become a very prominent figure in recent seasons.

In the past 12 months, Real Madrid has been linked to the re-signing of Gila, for whom they have a buy-back option. Relo says they are watching the 24-year-old, although it has to do more with the fact that he could leave Lazio for someone else in the summer.

According to the report, Inter Milan and Juventus both followed Gila, while he also attracts interest from clubs in the Premier League. Lazio is supposed to be not intended to sell, but if offers arrive, they would like to receive in the region of € 35 million.

This would be wonderful for Real Madrid, because they have a 50% clause that would become active in the event that Lazio sells Gila. They hope that a deal will take place in the summer so that they can receive this extra income.
