Real Madrid land €139m Champions League prize pot for 2024 title win

UEFA has revealed how Real Madrid took € 139 million in prize money for winning the Champions League title 2024.

The side of Carlo Ancelotti sealed the largest domestic prize in Europe at Wembley, while handling a 2-0 win over Bundesliga Giants Borussia Dortmund.

Another European success made the A la Liga and Champions League Double for Ancelotti and the Italian is in the race to defend both crowns this season.

According to financial reports published by UEFA, and reported through the Athletic, Real Madrid was at the top of the list of prize money at the end of last season.

Real Madrid's money came from a total competitive price fund of more than € 2 billion ($ 2.2 billion), which this season is rising by 25% again, as part of the new and extensive size with more teams and more competitions.

The final total is based on a large number of factors and sponsor share agreements conceived by the European administrative body prior to each tournament.

The UEFA formula before 2024/25 was to pay clubs in installments, including Real Madrid who received more than € 36 million ($ 40 million) as the best -ranking club in the preseason, but they only insured € 14 million ($ 15.5 million) as part of the income from broadcasting rights.

Real Madrid will be looking for a new large payment day in the Champions League of this season, even if Ancelotti is not successful in defending the trophy before a quarter -final confrontation with Arsenal.
