Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has avoided talking about potential additions to the squad in the January transfer market after his side looked relatively short of resources against Barcelona on Sunday evening. He declined to reveal details of his talks with the club.
It wasn't long before Ancelotti was asked about possible additions in the remaining weeks of the transfer market. After losing Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal for the remainder of the season, and failing to replace Toni Kroos or Nacho Fernandez in the summer, Real Madrid's squad planning has come to a head recently.
“It is a team with youth, energy and dedication, which is not always evident, but I trust this team. It's been a month since they won the award [Club] World Cup, 6 months ago the Champions League… and now we participate in all competitions.

He was asked if there had been a change in plans regarding their strategy, whether before or after the Clásico.
“We haven't changed the idea, it's just discussions we have with the club to have a competitive team,” Ancelotti noted. After a third question on the matter, the Italian had enough and replied: “I won't answer.”
