Real Madrid was able to say goodbye to Dani Ceballos for the second time since he arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu from Real Betis eight years ago. The Andalusian midfielder led to speculation about his future after placing on social media after their victory over Real Oviedo.
Los Blancos is said to be in conversation with Olympique Marseille about a movement for Ceballos. The deal would probably be a loan agreement with an option to buy for the French giants, although it could be an obligation. The reimbursement that is discussed would be somewhere between € 10-15 million. From his perspective, he would like a greater role at another club, because he wants to push a push for the Spain World Cup team last season.
It has been reported for a large part of the summer that manager Xabi Alonso has the feeling that Real Madrid misses a certain profile of midfielder as it is, but the exit of Ceballos could settle a fifth summer signature in the Bernabeu. ESPN reports that Alonso Ceballos does not want to lose if he has not prepared a replacement.
They say that Real Madrid is looking for an option to replace Ceballos before Alonso gives the green light to an exit. The club considered bringing Nico Paz back from Como for € 8 million, but decided to allow him to continue his development in the Serie A, while they also feel that promoting younger Thiago Pitarch is a different alternative.
One of the properties that Real Madrid has characterized on the transfer market in recent years is their wish only to spend great on a young prospect, or to get a veteran in a cheap. Ceballos is not a starter, but he is a reliable option in midfield and bringing in a young person with potential cannot fulfill what Alonso is looking for in the position. As far as another important investment is concerned, the will of Rodri Hernandez, Alexis Mac Allister and Enzo Fernandez are linked to the club, but without a significant income such a large investment seems unlikely.
