Real Madrid move away from Martin Zubimendi as new target is lined up

Real Madrid has been associated with Martin Zubimendi in recent weeks, although it seems that they are not so interested in him as Arsenal, who are desperate to bring the real Sociedad and Spain -midfielder to North Londs.

Arsenal is said to be in advanced conversations to sign Zubimendi, and they are willing to pay the € 60 million that La Real asks for a sale to happen. In the eyes of Real Madrid, this reimbursement is not worth the 26-year-old, and although they believe that he is a player to improve their first team team, they would rather sign a younger star, as their transfer policy has been in recent years.

Not only that, Sport says that Real Madrid prefers to sign a creative midfielder instead of a pivot point, and a player on which they have their eyes in this respect, is Rayan Cherki, who has been a sensation for Lyon in recent years.

Cherki, who is only 21, has had a good season and at the back the interest has begun to grow in his services. It is said that Paris Saint-Germain is very interested in praising him from their Ligue 1-rival Lyon, who would probably require compensation above the market value of € 30 million that the French star has.

Real Madrid's midfield struggle has been clear this season and it did not come from a lack of creativity, but rather a lack of defensive reinforcement, and therefore the signing of Zubimendi is one that would be logical. In terms of Cherki, his arrival would mean that he should compete with Jude Bellingham, Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler, who hardly takes place this season. As such it would be a surprise if the young Frenchman was sought.
