Real Madrid no longer regard Manchester United as competition for defender

The future of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has definitely entered the realm of saga in recent months. After reportedly agreeing terms with Real Madrid in March this year, recent months have been awash with alleged twists and turns in his future.

According to Marca, Real Madrid consider Davies still on the market and his future is undecided. Los Blancos continue to rely on Davies' desire to play for the club, while Bayern fight to keep hold of one of their best players. They seem to know one thing for sure: the battle is between them and Bayern Munich. Both Manchester United and Barcelona inquired about Davies and were linked as potential destinations, but have given up on the Canadian star after being rejected by him.

Recent reports have also linked Liverpool with a late move for Davies, but that would be a major shock if they beat both Bayern and Madrid to a deal they have been working on for about a year now. Davies was spotted on holiday with Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham this weekend, and another factor they hope will help them is his close friendship with David Alaba.
