Kylian Mbappe was fired from the hospital after the Real Madrid star became sick during the Club World Cup.
Mbappe had missed Real Madrid's opening match on Wednesday due to an illness.
An update from the club on Thursday confirmed that Mbappe was admitted to the hospital.
“Our player Kylian Mbappe suffers from an acute case of gastro -centeritis and was admitted to the hospital to undergo a series of tests and to follow the correct course of the treatment,” said a statement.
But the leader of the France is supposed to recover, with the club announcing on Thursday evening that he is ready to continue with 'specific medical treatment' away from the hospital.
Mbappe could still return to the competition, in which the club suggests that the player will gradually return to team activity.
Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso was asked about the state of Mbappe after their 1-1 draw against Al-Hilal.
Alonso was careful with predicting whether Mbappe would be available for their second group match on Sunday
“We will have to see how he feels,” said Alonso.
“The last day he went through important viral problems, so we have to wait and be able to judge closer to the game.”
Gastroenteritis, a stomach bug characterized by diarrhea and vomiting, usually takes less than a week.
Acute cases, however, can take up to about 14 days with fever and dehydration in the symptoms.
If the symptoms of Mbappe take fourteen days, it can exclude him to the quarterfinals of the competition, while his conditioning would probably be a doubt.
Real Madrid is confronted with the Mexican side Pachuca in their second game of the tournament, where Alonso hopes for an improved version.
Los Blancos will then be confronted with Red Bull Salzburg in their last group match on 26 June.
Real Madrid became frustrated in the opening match in Miami after the goal of Gonzalo Garcia was canceled by a penalty from Ruben Neves.
The 21-year-old attacker had led the line in the midst of the absence of Mbappe.
