Real Madrid outline three key objectives for transfer business

Real Madrid are currently involved in the planning process for not only the January transfer market – which looks quiet – but also for next season. They may not have all the answers, but they do have the goals.

Their first priority is to strengthen both wing-back positions. Depending on how David Alaba returns to action and looks like he can do it at top level again, we will Los Blancos decide whether to go after another central defender.

Secondly, Real Madrid wants to bring in a Spanish core of players and ensure their presence in the national team, says Cadena SER. Their ultimate goal, which partly depends on a court ruling on Manchester City's Premier League charges, is for Los Blancos to pursue Erling Haaland.

It's a little secret that Real Madrid are hoping to improve their full-back position with right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool and Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich. Both are out of contract next summer and can sign a pre-contract with Los Blancos from next Wednesday.
