Real Madrid players admit significant issue in private following Vallecano draw

Real Madrid looked to have made a signature comeback against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday evening, shouting for a 3-2 lead after being two goals down. Perhaps they did that too early, though, as Rayo came back into the game and got the equalizer.

The Real Madrid side were reportedly furious at not being awarded a penalty for a challenge against Vinicius Junior, which the club's website blamed for their inability to win. As indicated in Cadena SER, Vinicius may have been lucky to be on the pitch at the time, which was neither mentioned by Carlo Ancelotti nor on the club website.

However, the players did not share the view that this was responsible for the result. Privately, the Spanish radio station said the players admitted a draw was a fair result as they gave away a lot in defence. Attitudes have improved in recent weeks, but Real Madrid's players are aware that they have difficulty defending.

After a run of three clean sheets in La Liga Los Blancos have now again conceded seven goals in their last four games. In addition to Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao and David Alaba, Ferland Mendy has also been missing in recent weeks, who was Ancelotti's entire first choice in his first season.
