Real Madrid is about to complete their fourth signing of the summer transfer window, with Alvaro Carreras close to completing a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold arrived at the beginning of June, with both players involved for Los Blancos at the Club World Cup. A deal for Franco Mastantuono was also confirmed, but he cannot make the movement officially until he turns 18 in August. And soon Carreras will be the fourth that signs up.
Real Madrid tried to sign Carreras on time to have him in Xabi Alonso's team for the World Cup of Club, but a deal could not agree with Benfica. However, the conversations resumed earlier this week, and now the athletics have reported that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs.
Carreras has a release clause of € 50 million in his Benfica contract, but instead of activating this, Real Madrid has reached an agreement to pay the amount over three episodes -whatever they do with Huijsen, which was signed at AFC Bournemouth.
Carreras will now be able to travel to Madrid to undergo a medical, complete conditions and sign his new contract. This process should be relatively easy and that everything is fine, it can be confirmed this weekend as a Real Madrid player.
