Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti had to spend a large part of his season on adjusting his midfield to various problems, with various configurations that start behind their much -praised trio. One of the reasons for that was a disappointing season for Eduardo Camavinga.
The French International was one of the players that it was expected to take a step forward this season with the departure of Toni Kroos last summer. While Aurelien Tchouameni has finally found his foot without the German Maestro, and Fede Valverde traveled out of right-back, there is the chance for Camavinga to make a starting spot his own, taking into account an injury to Dani Ceballos.
However, that still has to happen. The Camavinga season is determined by injuries and a 'lack of continuity' in the words of Ancelotti, who have already missed 19 games in total. Against Atletico Madrid last week he was the first player removed, and the introduction of Luka Modric saw an important improvement in Los Blancos.
According to Relo, Real Madrid is delivered this season about the form of Camavinga, and in particular his loss of trust. They believe that this is the most important reason behind his versions of recent times, so that much to be desired, but the hierarchy still regards him as one of their most promising players. Yet they expected that Camavinga would grab his chance with both hands, and it is noted that opportunities are a premium in the Santiago Bernabeu.
Camavinga has the support of a dressing room that 'adores him', a coaching staff that points to his tender age of only 22, and in the long term they reserve confidence in his capacities. He is expected to start against Atletico Madrid tonight, and the expectation is improvement.
This report also comes a little more than 24 hours after it was broken that Manchester City is interested in Real Madrid poaching Camavinga. Los Blancos is dealing with a lower than expected income this season, and a lucrative sale would give them more room for maneuver on the transfer market – whether they would be willing to make Camavinga out of the door is not yet known.
