Real Madrid right-back target to sign new contract with €40m release clause

Right-Back is a position that Real Madrid will tackle in the next 12-18 months, but their plans to sign one of their goals seem to have taken a hit because he is about to donate a new contract to his current club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is the dream goal of Real Madrid, and although a deal to bring him out of Liverpool is very close to completion, he may not be the only right back that has been signed in the coming years because both Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez have to be replaced, with both players who are to the end of their respective.

And if another right back has studied Real Madrid, Juanlu Sanchez is. The 21-year-old has been followed by club officials for over a year, in which he has shown his class for Sevilla and both defender and midfielder.

Just like with Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid had hoped to pick up Juanlu as a free agent after the expiry of his contract in 2026. However, that will no longer be possible, with ED who reports that he has agreed a new deal with Sevilla that will see him in the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan season.

As part of his new contract, the Juanlu release clause will also increase. It is currently € 20 million, but after the completed agreement it will double up to € 40 million, making it even more difficult for Real Madrid to sign it.

It would be very difficult to see Real Madrid taking a step for Juanlu, unless he drastically increases his level to the point that his € 40 million release clause would be considered a bargain. That could certainly happen in the coming years, so there is little doubt that Los Blancos officials will continue to follow him.
