City Rivals Atletico Madrid also monitors the 20-year-old midfielder, who has been out of grace in Old Trafford for the past 12 months.
According to the report, Real Madrid and Atleti both have to make a move for Mainoo, where both clubs believe that he could be brought in on an initial loan of a seasonal hose. However, it is believed that Man United would not be open to this, especially in view of the fact that their plan is to retain the services of the young midfielder.
Mainoo broken brilliant on the scene in Man United during the 2023-24 season, but since then it has been a frustrating time for him at Old Trafford. The current head coach Ruben Amorim does not see him as a player to receive regular minutes, and this may mean that he insists on a move for Monday's deadline.
It is still to be seen whether Real Madrid or Atleti will pop up their pursuit of Mainoo in the coming days. Both clubs already have English players in their first team team, which would make them an attractive prospect for the man United Man, if he looks at an exit.
