The left-back has once again become a problem position for Real Madrid, and as a result the club bosses are looking to address it this summer.
Alphonso Davies is a long-term target, although he is likely to renew at Bayern Munich, ending any chance of him moving to the Santiago Bernabeu. Alternatives are therefore being considered.
Miguel Gutierrez has been linked, while CaughtOffside says Real Madrid also have interests in Paris Saint-Germain and Portuguese defender Nuno Mendes. The 22-year-old fits in perfectly with the club's transfer policy, although a deal could be difficult with Manchester United pushing hard to make a deal.
Should Real Madrid miss out on Davies, it will be important that the right player is signed in his place. Mendes would be a good option, but given that Gutierrez can be brought back from Girona for just €8 million, he would certainly be the best option.
