Real Madrid star attracting interest from Qatar as contract stalemate continues

This summer a busy transfer window could see for Real Madrid, and in terms of possible departure, one of the candidates can be Luka Modric, who comes to the defensive La Liga and European champions at the end of his current contract.

Modric has been in Real Madrid for almost 13 years, and although he is no longer a normal starter, he has still been a very important player for head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who often has familiarized in the experienced midfielder – especially in La Liga.

This season, Modric has played 48 times for Real Madrid, with his latest performance in the 2-1 home defeat on Saturday against Valencia. He has aware of things for less than three months at the club, and the hope for a one-year contract extension has to increase as Marca has stated that there has been no decision about whether the 39-year-old will have the opportunity to stay until 2026.

While Modric is waiting for a Real Madrid decision, he started to attract interest. According to the report, Qatar is interested in offering a lucrative contract that would serve as a large payment day before he ends his career, which is expected to happen after the World Cup 2026 in the United States and North America.

This season Modric has shown that he is very valuable for Real Madrid, but given that the club resembles a summer movement for Martin Zubimendi, it could push the Croatian midfielder to the output door.

The decision about whether Modric is going to stay or is expected to be taken before the end of the season, because it makes it possible for preparations for a possible farewell to be made. If Real Madrid gives the green light for negotiations on a contract extension, it would take very little time for an agreement to be reached.
