Real Madrid decided not to move for a midfielder after the retirement of Toni Kroos, a decision that has since been discussed, with the exception of a few weeks before Dani Ceballos was injured. However, there has been a suggestion that they could strengthen the center of the field this summer.
Los Blancos is previously linked to Niererson Dos Santos of Atalanta, and stronger with the real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi. It is said that the interest in the latter has cooled somewhat, with arsenal in pole position for the Basque metronome. In November they were also connected to a movement for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
The suggestion was that they could exchange Aurelien Tchouameni for Fernandez at the time, but Chelsea News insider Simon Phillips explained that the French midfielder is not interested in a switch to Stamford Bridge. However, he notes, however, that Real Madrid has registered a new interest in Fernandez – Chelsea is currently not having to entertain any lectures. However, there is a suggestion that they can be open to the idea of saying goodbye to Eduardo Camavinga.
The Camavinga season was interrupted by an injury, but his versions have been questioned in recent weeks, especially after he was removed in the Champions League for the timepiece against Atletico Madrid. Reports from local media say that Real Madrid retains confidence in him, but Manchester City is said to be attracted by the idea of signing the 22-year-old.
Fernandez would certainly offer Real Madrid more controlling presence at the base of midfield, a la Ceballos or Kroos. Although he is much less concerned with setting the pace, the Argentina International looks a more natural fit in midfield than any combination of Tchouameni, Valverde or Camavinga for the defense.
