Real Madrid to poach another teenage talent from rivals Atletico Madrid

Since the breaking of the pact of non-aggression between the two clubs to sign talented right back Jesus Fortea, Real Madrid has tempted a number of academy talents over the gap of Rivals Atletico Madrid. Their newest target is an attacking midfielder with the name Gabriel Castrelo.

The 18-year-old midfielder has a contract until 2027, but relevant says that he will not sign a senior deal with Los Rojiblancos, after negotiations between the club, his agency and his family have been demolished. Los Blancos likes to be a player who has missed the lead role in front of them under 19, and has moved to bring in Castrelo and are now in advanced conversations to take him to ValdeBas.

In contrast to Fortea, where Los Blancos deliberately persuaded the player to leave Atletico, the motives of Castrelo have to do with his progress, instead of designing at another club or money. His family had demanded that if Castrelo would sign a new deal, he would play for the B team next season and be involved in training the first team as part of his contract.

Atletico, however, was not willing to give him guarantees and as such decided to move Castrelo. It is not yet clear whether Real Madrid gave him guarantees whether he would join their Castilla team and train with the first team. Currently they have no young people involved in the team of Carlo Ancelotti, but in the past they did this for Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard when he signed for the club at the age of 16.

However, Castrelo is not in the same negotiating position, since Odegaard had his choice from clubs in Europe's elite. Atletico will have lately put more emphasis on their academy system, but with mixed degrees of success, although Pablo Barrios has been looking for some time.
