Last summer Real Madrid separated manners with Nico Paz, whose path to the first team was blocked. He came to Como and he has thrown there this season so far, with ex-Barcelona and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas who has succeeded in getting the best out of the young Argentinian star.
In 20 Serie A -performances, PAZ has succeeded in scoring five goals and offering three assists, and his contributions helped como – who were promoted to the top of Italian football at the end of last season – to a respectable 13th position In the table.
It is understandable that Real Madrid has monitored the progress of Paz in Italy. As part of the agreement last summer, they retained a 50%clause, while they are also able to re-sign the talented 20-year-old midfielder for a fee that reported as € 9 million.
Como, however, wants to have complete control over the future of the player, and according to reports in Italy (via Sport) they will try this this summer. The idea of the club is to make an offer that is believed to be in the region of € 15-20 million, to Real Madrid to remove both clauses in the agreement concluded in 2023.
Paz attracts strong interest from Inter Milan, and if a deal were to be agreed, Como would like to ensure that they receive as much money as possible, while the funds limited to which Real Madrid would be entitled. Los Blancos officials, however, will be aware that they have the upper hand in negotiations, so it's hard to say how much they would demand – they can also just decide to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The situation of Paz will certainly be one to watch over the summer. Real Madrid could need a new midfielder or two if Luka Modric and/or Dani Ceballos would leave, on top of the fact that Toni Kroos was not replaced before the start of this season.
