Real Madrid will look to address the right-back position in the coming years, and one player they have been linked with is Juanlu Sánchez. The 21-year-old has been on the club's radar for some time and although he is only considered a reserve target compared to Trent Alexander-Arnold, he is highly sought after by Los Blancos.
However, striking a deal in 2025 seems complicated. Earlier this week it was reported that RB Leipzig were planning to sign Juanlu on loan with an option to buy, although Sevilla are now looking to agree a new contract with the young defender on this basis, according to ED.
Juanlu's existing contract expires in 2026, so there would be some danger if he doesn't renew at the end of the season. Sevilla are hoping to increase his release clause to €20 million, which would provide more certainty if Real Madrid come knocking in the future.
