Real Madrid can be in store for a busy window in the summer transfer, and a player on their radar is Nico Paz, who they sold to Como 12 months earlier. The will of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen and Martin Zubimendi are also expected to be goals for Los Blancos, but there is much more danger to possible deals for them compared to the young Argentinian midfielder.
As part of last summer's agreement with Como, Real Madrid has retained a buy-back clause for PAZ and considering it to activate it. The 20-year-old has had an excellent first season in senior football, with six goals and five assists in 27 Serie A performances, and his versions have not gone unnoticed by officials of the Santiago Bernabeu, as confirmed by head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The possible pursuit of Real Madrid for Paz, however, can be Stonewalled, because the father of the player La Provincia di Como (via Relevanto) has told that his son can be tempted to stay in Como for at least one season.
“I think if you ask Nico what he would like to do, I think he would like to stay here for another year because he feels very good and happy. He loves everything here, the team, the group, the people … I would agree.”
A return to Real Madrid may not be the best idea for Paz, if it will arise this summer. He was unable to break into the first team prior to his departure from 2024, and in terms of the midfield options of Ancelotti, not much has changed. As such, he would probably be behind Jude Bellingham, Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler as attacking players in the center of the park.
It is still to consider whether Real Madrid takes their step, but it would probably suit them if Como would hold a season to Paz, because they would need it earlier in 2026 compared to now.
