The interest of Real Madrid in Ibrahima Konate is currently documented, but Liverpool is trying to find a way to lose him in the same way as Trent Alexander-Arnold. Los Blancos, however, is on its way to try a similar game plan again.
Konate is from the contract next summer and has so far rejected all Liverpool attempts to renew his current deal. The fear at Anfield is that he could leave for a free summer next summer, after Real Madrid had made him their top objective for the summer of 2026 in terms of free agents.
In response, Liverpool has decided to make King available this summer. The French defender is one of their starters, but in an attempt to prevent him from losing without benefits, an asking price of € 50 million set for the 26-year-old. If that prize is not reached, Liverpool will try to keep him in the coming season and negotiate a new deal, as they did with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
It has been reported that Los Blancos is planning to sign it first and foremost a free next summer. But if they were moving to Konate, they would only be willing to spend € 20-25 million on a player with whom they can negotiate within six months, say Diario ALS. Liverpool will hope that another worshiper will arrive for Konate with an offer of € 50 million, but Real Madrid operates that they are the only offer that he will accept.
Although Konate would be an upgrade for some of their current options, Real Madrid does have Raul Asencio, Dean Huijsen, David Alaba, Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger in the central defense, while there was a suggestion that Aurelien Tchouameni could operate in a back three. Alaba and Rudiger are from the contract next summer, and a movement for Konate as soon as their high salaries are out of the books, is logical.
