Real Madrid veteran becomes a target for La Liga side

Free agent Lucas Vazquez remains without a club after he had left Real Madrid this summer, with little news about where he could move. The 34-year-old has spent the vast majority of his career at Los Blancos, and just like Nacho Fernandez for him, is now evaluating his next step.

Vazquez left the Bernabeu in the midst of tears in May, somewhat under the radar because of the fact that Carlo Ancelotti and Luka Modric were also on their way. He spent 17 years in Real Madrid, which made 402 performances appeared at the time.

The only interruption in that spell for Vazquez was a loan spell to Espanyol in 2014-15. Vazquez played well enough for Espanyol to activate a purchase option of € 500K, and Los Blancos to buy it back for € 1 million the same summer. During that season, Vazquez made 39 performances, scored four goals and gave seven assists playing as a traditional winger on the right.

Now EL 1900 says that Espanyol is again interested in Vazquez as a veteran addition this summer. Sports director Fran Garagarza is looking for another correct wing player after he brought in Blackburn's Tyrhys Dolan on a free of England. They say that Vazquez has countless offers on the table, but has to make a decision anyway.

If there is a club outside of Real Madrid who could seduce Vazquez to stay in La Liga, this might be loose pericos. Earlier reports have indicated that he would not like to stay in Europe, to prevent him from having to face Los Blancos.

Juventus, AC Milan and Besiktas have all collected information about Vazquez in the past month, but it is also thought that he has options in Major League Soccer and the Saudi Pro League. Few players will be able to offer more European experience than Vazquez.
