Real Madrid have a knack for encouraging younger players, with the likes of Rafa Marin and Alex Jimenez permanently leaving the club during the 2024 summer transfer window. The next player who could follow them is Erik Vazquez, although his impending departure will initially only be on loan.
As reported by Nil Sola (via ED), Girona is close to a deal that could see Vazquez join until the end of the season. The teenager is considered a very bright talent at La Fabrica, although he has struggled to find game time for Alvaro Arbeloa's U19 side over the course of the current season.
It remains to be seen whether some sort of purchase option will be included in the arrangement for Vazquez. If so, Real Madrid will undoubtedly look to retain the opportunity to re-sign him, or at least include a sell-on clause, as they have done with many other youngsters in recent years.
