Real Sociedad hit by suspension blow for Barcelona trip

Real Sociedad has stimulated their hope for sealing the European qualification with a return to winning ways in La Liga.

La Real drove to a timely 3-0 home victory on relegation that fought Leganes in San Sebastian to go on eighth place in the domestic rankings.

The victory over Leganes enlightened some growing pressure and came as only their second competition winning in the last six games, while Imanol Alguacil seems to reach the form at the perfect point of the campaign.

It is also on an ideal point, prior to a vital week of action, while they organize Real Madrid in a midweek Copa del Rey Semi Final First Been, before they left for Barcelona on 2 March in League Action.

Alguacil has already received a setback for the Real Madrid match with defender Nayef Auerd excluded after being wounded against Leganes.

The International of Morocco will undergo tests in the coming days, but he is also doubting to compete against Barcelona next weekend based on first reviews.

An important player who will certainly miss against La Blaugrana is Winger Takefusa Kubo who has collected his fifth competition booking of the season against Leganes.

However, the prohibition does not apply to Copa del Rey games, so it will be available against Real Madrid as a small comfort point for Alguacil.

Japan International Kubo has again been the key for Real Sociedad this season and the 23-year-old winger also served his fifth league objective of the campaign against Leganes.

His best total ever came in 2022/23, with nine league goals, and he could do that better in the last weeks of the campaign.

Alguacil has options for covering for the absence of Kubo to other BarrenetXea, the favorite to come to the start XI in Catalonia.

Club captain Mikel Oyarzabal can be ready to start both incoming competitions after starting this weekend in the bench.
